About the Awards

The aim of the Awards was to inspire and develop the creative talent of China's students and assist them on the road to becoming professional automotive designers.

  • Judging by design directors from international and China's OEMs

  • Prizes include student placements at a Western design scho

Five Awards categories:
 
  • Best Exterior Design
  • Best Interior Design
  • Best Lifestyle Interior
  • Best Innovation
  • Special award for Best Design In Harmony With China's Heritage
 
Prizes: 

 

  • fully funded short term placement at a Western Design School for the winners
  • promotion, Car Design News membership and magazine subscription to support the automotive design courses at the schools of the winners
  • PLUS the five winners become automatic finalists in the global Student Design Awards 2010, to be presented at the awards ceremony held during the Paris Auto Show in October 2010

 

 
Awards Dinner:

  

The evening started with drinks and the chance to view a display of the work of the finalists in each of the prize categories. Our distinguished judges were in attendance, as were the design directors of the OEMs which have set the competition briefs, along with specially-invited VIPs from other OEMs and the wider design community.
